When Elephants Walked Backwards is a fable based on the Thai model of a successful marriage.  The story is about an elephant named Chang whose rear legs decide they want to lead instead of follow. This leads to a series of events in which Ghang’s entire herd ends up walking backwards and this “condition” soon spreads to all of the elephant herds in Asia with the exception of one herd, led by a wise old bull named Yai.  After Chang’s herd angrily exiles him to the jungles; his chance encounter with Yai’s herd is the beginning of an adventure of discovery and understanding.  When Chang finally returns to his herd to teach them to walk normally; it is soon apparent that the Chang who left is not the Chang who returns.   

Phra Jan is a fable/myth taking place in the distant past of Thailand. At this time there is not yet a moon and the story deals with its coming into being. There are five main characters and the two leading characters are women. One, Khun Ya, is old, and very wise, with many surprises; and the other; Mew, is young, sensitive, curious and adventurous. Throughout the book will be original Thai art in an ancient style referred to as from the Himmaphan Forest. That art is being done as I write this by a very talented Thai artist who is an expert in this style.
